Art Lessons and Lectures

Caprice offers in person and online art lessons every Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.  You can join in at the Caprice Fine Art & Co Studio Gallery in Kimberley, BC or via Zoom online.  All skill levels welcome. Students will learn the rules of fine art including line, color mixing, shape, value and composition.  It is a fun and relaxing way to learn while connecting with other painters.

The “Ask an Artist” webinar takes place on Zoom on the first Tuesday of every month.  Join in for an interactive art discussion.  Ask questions, get critiques or just come to learn.  Caprice will talk about art history and her own examples of paintings will be used to illustrate the concepts of fine art.

Musings of An Unusual Artist

Caprice is a born story teller. Her life has been one of extremes; from travelling to see art around the world, following her art as a fulfilling career, to living a life with a disability and suffering the loss of her mother, Caprice knows the highs and lows that comes with feeling deeply. She has been handed the writing torch from her Mom, Elizabeth, and is now ready to share her life publicly through her Substack newsletter called “Musings of an Unusual Artist”. Her stories are multilayered and this platform is giving Caprice a place to share and hopefully have universal conversations on topics that impact all of us. Sign up for free and have the newsletter delivered right to your inbox. If you like what you read, please consider upgrading to a paid subscription for bonus material.

“Caprice's passion for life and love of nature is seized in the breathtaking play of colour boldly applied to canvas with dramatic brush strokes.”

Meet Caprice

Caprice first picked up her paintbrush in 1994 and has been painting ever since.

She works, exhibits her paintings, teaches and writes from her Studio Gallery located in Kimberley, British Columbia, Canada.

Whenever the opportunity arises, Caprice travels to not only see new landscapes, but also to art galleries and museums in Canada and abroad.  Looking at art illuminates and inspires. She then calls upon the powers of her imagination to portray on canvas the beauty and majesty of the mountains and forests that surround her.  Her vibrant colors and bold strokes reflect her strong connection to mother nature.

After painting full time for many years, it was a natural progression for Caprice to start teaching art.  Passing on the knowledge that was passed on to her is certainly an important part of her career.  Caprice has a gift for teaching art but also for bringing like minded creatives together to share their own experiences in the art world.

Writing is a new found passion and Caprice is thrilled to share her stories with her followers through Substack.
